Mrs. Nally a former teacher to receive prestigious award.

Some of our parents who attended Saint Brigid’s NS may remember our past colleague  Mrs. Rhona Nally. Rhona taught her for many years before she retired due to ill health. Since her retirement she has  “campaigned tirelessly to raise awareness of advanced breast cancer in Ireland, while supporting others who are living with this disease. Her selfless advocacy has consistently highlighted the need for progress and innovation to improve the experiences of people living with this disease. ”

We were delighted to read that she will today receive the very prestigious Charles Cully Medal in recognition of her inspiring role across the areas of advocacy, research and support for women living with advanced breast cancer. Rhona will be the first cancer advocate to be awarded the Charles Cully Medal in its history.

The Irish Cancer Society is hosting its annual Charles Cully Lecture and Medal Award today, 3rd of October  at the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland, in Dublin.

Congratulations Rhona from everyone in Saint Brigid’s !
