We know that we have some really talented swimmers in our school. This year we are hoping to enter some children in the swimming events in the 2018 Community Games.
- Children must be living in the Parish of Our Lady Mother of the Church in order to be eligible to compete on behalf of the Castleknock Community Games.
- They also need to have swum competitively in the last two years and have a personal time from Swim Ireland. U/8 Over 6 category (born between 1st Aug 2010 and 31st July 2012) must be able to swim a minimum of 1 length (25m).The event in this category is the 25m Freestyle U/10 Over 8 category (born between 1st Aug 2008 and 31st July 2010) must be able to swim a minimum of 1 length (25m). Events in this category are 25m Freestyle and 25m Backstroke.
U/12 Over 10 category (born between 1st August 2006 and 31st July 2008) must be able to swim a minimum of 2 lengths (50m). Events in this category are 50m Freestyle, 50m Breaststroke and 50m Backstroke.
U/14 Over 12 category (born between 1st August 2004 and 31st July 2006) must be able to swim a minimum of 2 lengths (50m). Events in this category are 50m Freestyle, 50m Breaststroke, 50m Backstroke and 50m Butterfly.
If you think your child is at a swimming level that would enable them to compete , please send their name and contact details into the office. Let us know what event they would be interested registering for. Depending on the number interested we may need to hold trials , the details of which will be sent out later.
