Camogie and Hurling Updates

Mr Doyle tells us that the Hurling and Camogie season is going really well this year. Our boys are already in the semifinals and the girls 6th class team are playing really well. They bear Scoil Muire, Lucan well this week with a very strong display. Next week they play two matches. We are confident they will also be in the semifinals soon!

5th Class Camogie

This year for the first time ever, we have two camogie teams, one in 6th and one in 5th. Yesterday our 5th class team played the first round of the league and were the winners of a tough match against  St. Pius X school. Well done girls!

Soccer Season

Soccer  season has started with a league match for the 6th class soccer team today. We started slowly against a strong John Bosco’s side and unfortunately we lost 3-1 despite  a great goal from Finn O’Neill in the second half.

Everyone played really well with notable performances from Phelim Scott in goal, Denys Yaskerskyy, Charlie Sheridan and Evan Maxwell in defence. Tara O’Hanlon and Finn O’Neill dominated in  midfield and Sean Ogbomo was excellent up front.

We didn’t win but it was a promising start.

Santry Cross Country

Mr Lowery and Mr. Mac Cann took 50 pupils to Santry on Tuesday to take part in the finals of Fingal Cross Country League. It was a dreadful day but the weather did not dampen the enthusiasm and the steely determination of all the athletes . All the hard work and training certainly paid off and they all ran the best possible race. They returned to school with two titles, Best School and  Best Girls’ Team . Nora was on hand to take some great shots.
