It’s Maths week and Ms. Robinson’s class were busy today completing Maths Trails outside .
The children in Room 6 went on a nature walk on Wednesday. They enjoyed crunching the autumn leaves with their feet in the beautiful sunshine. It was a great surprise to meet Fr. O’Connor on the way and the children were delighted to show him their leaf and bark rubbings.
Congratulations to Fionn in 6th class who won the Leinster u13 doubles and mixed doubles in Badminton last weekend. What a great achievement.
There was great excitement in the Technology room today as we had a visit from Cillian Sherlock and the RTE News2day team! The visit was to mark EU Code Week and to see all the different coding activities that take place in our school from Infants to 6th class. Take a look at some ‘behind the scenes’ photos!
EU Code Week is an initiative which aims to bring coding and digital literacy to everybody in a fun and engaging way. Coding is for everyone and the aim of code week is to encourage teachers and children to give it a go and try something new.
The children in Mr. Lysaght’s are the first Senior Infant class to work as programmers using Bee Bots this year. They are completing lots of programming and computational thinking challenges through maths and literacy activities. See some photos of the children at work below:
The children in Ms. O’Neill’s 5th class have been completing a variety of engineering challenges over the last few weeks as part of their STEM block in the technology room.
